Duke Energy issued the following alert on 29 September following Helene’s destructive visit. It is recommended for health reasons to stay off the lake for the foreseeable future.
Water Access Alerts
For safety and emergency purposes, until further notice, access to all lake waters through Duke Energy managed access areas is strictly prohibited from public use. Access areas should only be used by law enforcement, emergency and first responders at this time.
All closure and open dates are projected and may be impacted by weather.
